External Activities of IEE Members

From 2 May to 20 May, Raffael Beier was in Cape Town, South Africa at the University of Western Cape for supervision and teaching the MADM students.

Raffael Beier presented his research at the European Conference for African Studies at the University of Edinburgh, UK from 11 June to 14 June.

Tobias Thürer participated the conference “GLF Bonn 2019: Rights in the landscape”, Bonn, Germany from 21 June to 24 June.

Our research fellow Timeela Manandhar took part in a conference at Temple University Rome from jun2 24 to June 29.

Christina Seeger attended the workshop “ Rechtliche, administrative und finanzielle Regelungen in Horizont 2020”, Bonn, June 17.

Dr. Elkhan Richard Sadik-Zada presented on “Determinants of public debt and the role of energy” at the summer school in Rome. July 2 to July 7.

From 3 July to 7 July, Anne Siebert took part in the 10th Annual Conference in Political Economy (IIPPE) and presented "De-agrarianisation and urban food producer movements: A case from South Africa. Lille, France.

In August Britta Niklas took part in the Annual Conference of the American Association of Wine Economists in Vienna, Austria. She presented two papers.

Anne Siebert took part in a conference organized by the Royal Geography Society in London. She presented on "Spaces of hope in the city and the reality beyond the fence". August 27 to September 1, London, UK.

Our research fellow Raffael Beier participated and presented his research at the RC21 2019 Conference in New Delhi, India. The conference took place from 19 September to 24 September.

Prof. Dr. Löwenstein and Dr. Gabriele Bäcker attended the “Netzwerktreffen der Fachzentren“ in Dakar, Senegal. 18 September to 24 September.

From 18 September to 19 September, Timeela Manandhar attended the “2. Arbeitstreffen 2019 Bündnis nachhaltige Textilien“, Hamburg, Germany.

Raffael Beier and Anne Siebert presented their research at the „Deutsche Kongress for Geographie”, Kiel, Germany. The conference took place from September 25 to September 30.

Anne Siebert and Prof. Dr. Löwenstein were at the University of Western Cape from November 25 to December 3, for the graduation for the MADM students.
