News: Endorsement of the Global Nutrition Report

The IEE is among the institutions who endorsed the Global Nutrition Report 2015.

The Global Nutrition Report has been supported and delivered by a wide-ranging group of partners. The 2014 Global Nutrition Report was launched on November 20, 2014 at the Second International Conference on Nutrition (ICN2) in Rome, with subsequent engagement events taking place in cities around the world. The events use the Report as a starting point for conversations that highlight country-specific nutrition issues and reflect on ways to strengthen accountability. The Global Nutrition Report convenes existing processes, highlights progress in combating malnutrition, and identifies gaps and proposes ways to fill them. Through this, the Report helps guide action, build accountability, and spark increased commitment for further progress towards reducing malnutrition much faster.

The IEE takes an active role in the academic research of the questions regarding nutrition and food security in the developing countries. In addition, the IEE conducts quantitative survey on the actions on nutrition of the advanced countries in the less developed countries with a strong emphasis on countries with a high number of refugees. On the 30th September 2015, the IEE endorsed the Global Nutrition Report along with other leading academic institutions and NGOs working in the field of nutrition problems (see list of endorsements on the right). The Institute hopes to be supportive to the development of the Report through its own data and surveys.
