Dear Reader,

In this edition of the IEE Newsletter the Institute reaches out to you from a new location, one that we have only recently settled into. As our former building on the campus of the Ruhr-University undergoes substantive renovations, the move to new offices became necessary. The new location is off-campus, on the Universitätsstraße – the street connecting the city center of Bochum with the campus. While the lively atmosphere of the campus will be missed, the new offices offer an attractive environment with their bright design and office infrastructure, more convenient spaces to welcome visitors and a modern lecture room. Thanks to the subway connection, the campus is still only less than 10 minutes away, keeping university administration and other facilities on campus easy to reach.
The move comes in a year that marks the 50th anniversary of the IEE. We consider this a brilliant opportunity to look back on the last decades and to look into the coming years with friends, alumni, partners and members of the Institute on a festive event in November this year. In order to enable our Alumni from all over the world to join the festivities, the date of the event will be set close to the Master Alumni Conference which will be held under the title "Doing Good with Business? – Corporate Social Responsibility, Social Entrepreneurship, and Fair Trade" in Bochum from 9 to 11 November 2016 and is organized by the IEE in collaboration with its partners in Berlin and Duisburg and funded by the DAAD. Further details about the anniversary will be posted in due time on the IEE homepage.
