28 Afghan Lecturers Graduated

After three intense semesters of studying at the RUB and four months of field research in Afghanistan, on 27 September 2013, twenty-eight Afghan lecturers from the Universities of Balkh, Herat, Kabul, Kandahar, Khost and Nangarhar earned their Master degree in Management and Economics.

The graduates’ commencement was performed by the Afghan Minister of Higher Education, HE Prof. Dr. Obaidullah Obaid, the Head of Task Force Afghanistan-Pakistan from the German Federal Government for Afghanistan and Pakistan, Dr. Philipp Ackermann, and the General Secretary of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Dr. Dorothea Rüland. The ceremony was concluded by Prof. Dr. Löwenstein, Managing Director of the IEE, and Kawoon Azizi, one of the Afghan lecturers who delivered a farewell speech on behalf of all the graduates.

Over 100 guests and friends attended the ceremony to share the success of our Afghan lecturers. The staff of the IEE wish all our graduates success in their future careers in Afghanistan, and we proudly congratulate them on their academic achievements and successful graduation from RUB.
