After successful defense of her PhD Thesis on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, Catherine Promise Biira from Gayaza, Uganda has been awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor(Ph.D.).

Her thesis on "Collective Identity and Prospects for Political Integration: A Case Study oft he East African Community" was supervised by Prof. Dr. Christof Hartmann and Prof. em. Dr. Uwe Andersen. Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Löwenstein chaired the oral exam.
