MSc Program in Management and Economics

graduates

Since 2008 the cooperation between the IEE and the RUB on the one hand and the Faculties of Management and Economics at Afghan Universities on the other hand has been extended to cover training of Afghan lecturers at the Masters level.

In February 2010 the IEE celebrated the first 17 Afghan graduates of the MSc Program in Management and Economics at the RUB. The first Master program for Afghan lecturers of Economics at RUB was sponsored by the World Bank through the "Strengthening Higher Education Program (SHEP)" framework and formed part of a partnership agreement between the RUB and the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education.

On 29 August 2011, another 30 lecturers from six of the RUB's Afghan partner faculties commenced their Master-level studies in Management and Economics in Bochum. As an entry condition, the two women and 28 men had successfully completed the Bachelor upgrading program at RUB before joining the MSc program. The second intake of the MSc program is co-financed by the Ministry of Higher Education of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

Like the Bachelor Training in Management and Economics for Afghan Lecturers the MSc program for Afghan lecturers is coordinated by the IEE and implemented in close cooperation with the RUB Faculty of Management and Economics.
