MSc Program in Management and Economics |

 In 2007 the cooperation between the IEE and the RUB on the one hand and the Faculties of Management and Economics at Afghan Universities was extended to cover training of Afghan lecturers at the Masters level. In February 2010 the IEE celebrated the first 17 Afghan graduates of the MSc Program in Management and Economics at the RUB. The program has been sponsored by the World Bank through the Strengthening Higher Education Program (SHEP) framework and forms part of a partnership agreement between the RUB and the Afghan Ministry of Higher Education.
Similar to the Bachelor Training in Management and Economics for Afghan Lecturers the MSc-program is implemented in close cooperation with the RUB Faculty of Management and Economics.

Targets
- Upgrading teaching standards at Afghan partner faculties through the training of lecturers in an MSc program
- Improving research capacities: Guided and coordinated Master theses
- Fostering disciplinary specialization at the partner faculties
Results
- MSc Program in Management and Economics for Afghan lecturers started in early 2008 (17 participants)
- Coursework (90 ECTS) done
- Selection of research topics for guided Master-theses in line with the development needs of Afghanistan
- Field research for the Master-theses done
- Graduation on 26 February 2010
Future Perspectives
- Development of rules for promotion of lecturers at the partner faculties
- Start of 2nd cycle of MSc-program
- Admission of MSc graduates to PhD-program
