Joint Workshop „The Global Financial Crisis and Consequences for Malawi”
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the joint workshop „The Global Financial Crisis and Consequences for Malawi" which will take place as follows:

Date and time: Thursday, 29 October 2009, 9.15 a.m.
Venue: Annie's Lodge, Zomba, Malawi

The current global economic crisis hits developing countries' economies through a multitude of transmission channels. But effects of the crisis are different for developing country economies, depending on a country's integration into the international economy, institutional settings and so forth. The workshop therefore aims at discussing the specific effects of the crisis for Malawi.

The workshop is held as a cooperative project of the South African - German Centre of Development Research and the University of Malawi.

The South African - German Centre for Development Research is located at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in South Africa and operated through the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy (IEE) of Ruhr University Bochum (RUB), Germany together with the School of Government (SoG) and the Institute for Social Development (ISD) of UWC. The workshop programme can be found here.

The workshop will be held in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung
