On October 14th, 2026, Emmanuel Monyei successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "International Human Rights Law In Context: Adaptation Pathways in Climate-Vulnerable Countries" and was awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.) in International Development Studies. His PhD project has been supervised by Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Heintze (First Examiner) and Prof. Dr. Markus Kaltenborn (Second Examiner). Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Löwenstein chaired the oral exam.
