With the Christmas break approaching an eventful and successful year for the Institute is drawing to a close. A major change to the outward appearance of the IEE came in June, when the newly designed website of the Institute went online. The new structure and layout of our website gave us a reason to also present our newsletter in a new web-based format, yet not without giving you the opportunity to download the newsletter (or those contributions which are of most interest to you) in the conventional pdf-format. As before, the newsletter will continue to inform you, our readers, about all the changes, events, and success stories of the last six months by providing reports, stories and interviews of IEE Members, students, friends and Alumni.
The current edition of the newsletter reveals most clearly that the connectedness between the IEE and its Alumni is a salient feature of the Institute. The importance attached to the relationship with and among our Alumni is reflected in a number of contributions of this newsletter, such as the report from MADM alumna Cristina Gregorio about her Carlo Schmid Programme fellowship at the United Nations Joint Inspection Unit, the report on the DAAD Alumni Conference in Leipzig, and the MADM lecture series on "Development Cooperation in Practice" to name but a few.
We would like to take this opportunity to strengthen our ties to our Alumni and reach out to all Alumni who receive our newsletter. We kindly ask you to provide us with information about your current job positions. Our hope is to create a database for mutual exchange among all the development cooperation professionals with a common history at the IEE. Please send your information to: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.!
We hope that the current newsletter will give all our readers numerous reasons to stay connected with us.
Enjoy the read!
