Ahmad Javed Shuaibi joined IEE as a research Fellow in February 2022. He holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and Management Science from the Ruhr University Bochum and Bachelor of Science in Economics from Kabul University. Prior to starting the Master’s Degree Programme at the Ruhr University Bochum, he participated in an advanced training programme from 2004-2006, initiated by Institute of Development Research and Development Policy. Mr. Shuaibi was assistant professor at the Economics Faculty of Kabul University. He also worked as a member of the Supervisory Board at Bakhter Bank in Afghanistan. Furthermore, he was coordinator of a master’s degree programme funded by USAID at the Department of Public Policy of Kabul University. Mr. Shuaibi has also worked as an accounting and budgeting trainer at the Civil Service Institute. The programme was funded by USAID. Mr. Shuaibi has many textbook publications for Economics Faculty of Kabul University. His publications include articles in monetary economics, monetary policy, financial markets and institutions, risk management and insurance, and the principle of macroeconomics. Mr. Shuaibi works on his doctoral research focusing on the impact of foreign aid on poverty reduction in Afghanistan.
