Short Profile

Johann is a PhD student in economics at the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and the Ruhr Universität Bochum. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Passau and gained experience in the development sector during an internship for GIZ in Ethiopia. After studying economics for one year at the University of Leipzig, Johann joined Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne to complete the Master 2 Research Development Economics. His areas of interest are environmental economics, impact evaluation and statistical capacity development. As part of the EU's Horizon 2020 project ADAPTED on poverty reduction in sub-Saharan Africa, he is conducting research on the costs and benefits of climate policies in the context of informal economies under the supervision of Prof. Mathilde Maurel and Prof. Wilhelm Löwenstein
