The next MA Development Management (MADM) intake will start in September 2026 at the Institute of Development Research and Development Policy, Ruhr-University Bochum. The 18-month English-language and interdisciplinary programme is designed for candidates from all over the world with a first university degree in a relevant discipline, e.g., economics, political/social science, law, or geography. In addition, first practical experience with relevance to development management is an advantage. Beyond a sound theoretical knowledge base, further advantages of the MADM are a strong training in empirical methods including a field research stay abroad, an integral internship period, and a diverse group of students originating from more than 13 countries. Graduates are qualified for positions as experts in planning, implementation, management, and evaluation of development projects.
