PhD IDS Student Ricardo Gellert Paris has successfully defended his PhD thesis titled "From Global Dynamics to Hybrid Territories: Infrastructure, Land, and Power in Spatial Reconfigurations of the Nacala Corridor in Mozambique" on November 21, 2025. Ricardo has been awarded the degree of a Philosophiae Doctor (Ph.D.).

Ricardo's PhD thesis was supervised by Jun.-Prof. Dr. Andreas Rienow from the Ruhr-University Bochum's Geography Department and Prof. Dr. Blake Walker from the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen. The examination committee was chaired by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Löwenstein of the IEE.
